2018 was when we first set forth to pursue our dog of choice, the Portuguese Water Dog; We soon realized this was not going to be an easy task. It was quite disheartening time after time to track down one of these elusive puppies only to find that the breeder had placed such stringent rules and regulations with spay/neuter/contracts that it was near impossible to buy one. We soon decided that we wanted to help this wonderful, athletic family dog to prosper in this state/states as a family pet and we wanted to make it easier for families to acquire one of these amazing dogs as a pet without all the riff raff. It took us a little while, but we are quite proud of the Porties we have acquired and are ready to place some beautiful healthy pups into the arms of many happy new owners. It is my fondest wish, that whether you're looking for a best friend that's a couch potato or an Olympic backyard swimmer, that you'll find our puppies as special as we do!

Amy Brazelle is from Alabama and breeds Portuguese Water Dogs. We are a small inside our home breeder of Porties. We currently have Saylor (female Brown with White markings) and Oscar (Male - Black with White Markings). Both have had complete DNA testing and their results showed them totally clear. OFA testing of Hips/Elbows also.

Involved in the breed for more than 20 years, I am committed to the betterment of the breed, my dogs, and my puppy owners. I enjoy doing a variety of activities with these great dogs.  I relocated from the pacific northwest area to Alabama in 2015 to be closer to family. Test results for the major genetic health tests available to the PWD breeder (GM-1, JDCM, EOPRA, MS, and prcd-PRA) are utilized in both parents to insure no affected puppies are produced. Additional non-genetic testing (OFA) is performed to provide the best possible outcome in the future pups. Stowaway participates in the AKC Breeder of Merit program, requiring a minimum number of 5 years in AKC events and performing recommended health testing of breeding stock. All pups are bred and raised in a family environment. A great deal of emphasis is placed on a safe and enriched environment with lots of socialization for their “formative weeks”. The puppies will be temperament tested and matched with their future families based on preferences for sex, coat type and lifestyle. If I don’t have just the right pup for you I will gladly assist you in locating other breeders to contact. Contact me for information about future litters.
