Our dogs are our pets, in our home, never kenneled, on our 93 acre home. They are socialized with places and people, car rides and hiking on our property with their pack. Skippin CJ Rat Terriers is located in California our program has a strong foundation built for health, temperament, intelligent and structure. Our dogs are health tested, we only have a few litters a year so we can properly concentrate on socializing each pup. Our puppies are raised in our home, up to date their vaccinations and are eligible for AKC registration. Puppy will come with health certificate/letter from a veterinarian. Hobby Breeders of Rat Terriers only. We currently have 2 male puppies (12 wks old) who have been discounted due to age. One Blue Tri Tuxedo and Oen Chocolate Tri Tuxedo. Fun, confident playful. Hobby breeders of Rat Terriers for 28 years in California. We have a long history with this breed as my family raised Rat Terriers dating back to the late 1920'a in Grand Island Nebraska. I started showing Rat Terriers when they were accepted in UKC in 1999. I have been showing them in AKC now for 5 years. I am a retired Reg Nurse and take pride in proper documentation and genetic testing. All our dogs are PLL, PRA-PRCD, and DM Clear as well as Clear of the newly found "length" gene. I have been inspected by AKC twice and both times was given a letter of commendation for my kennels, health and condition of our dogs and good records. We breed mostly Minis and some Small Standards. At age 74 I simply can't keep up with the larger Rat Terriers in the show ring. I don't know what my life would have looked like without this wonderful healthy smart, funny, active little companion at my side. We breed for health, structure and good temperaments that will fit in well as a family dog. We do not breed for high prey drive as most of our dogs go into pet homes and a few into the show ring. I won't sell to people who want to "clean the rodents out their barn." They have a have a better reason than that to have one of our puppies. I have always offered a lifelong return guarantee if a person is ever unable to care for their dog or puppy. I have microchipped since 2002. Our home page ... I am just a dog lover that really enjoys training the working dog. Although my Bloodhounds are mostly pets that are bred for looks, we love to get them out and watch them use their nose by playing scent training games. Our Walker hounds are hunting tree dogs. And our Rat terriers are Big Game tracking dogs.
