Connecticut Siberian Husky

Siberian Huskies in Connecticut are a popular dog breed, but there are pros and cons of having this large, imposing dog in your Connecticut home.

One thing is for sure, if you have a Siberian Husky in Connecticut, this good-looking dog will surely turn heads wherever you go. The strikingly beautiful blue eyes and wolf-like body force people to pay attention. And the wonderful personality makes it easy to fall in love with a Siberian Husky at first sight.

Connecticut residents who bring home a Siberian Husky puppy will find this dog has high levels of intelligence and energy levels. So, you do need to invest time in meeting your four-legged companion’s emotional and physical needs. This is a playful and good-natured breed with an agreeable temperament that will blend well with most Connecticut families.

A Siberian Husky is not a dog who needs you around all the time – they are fairly independent and do well on their own as long as they are secure that you will eventually show up. Also, they are not big eaters since they were bred for harsh conditions. Siberian Huskies are generally clean and odorless dogs, so that’s a good thing if you’re keen to keep your Connecticut home looking spic and span.

Choosing the best breed for Connecticut weather and lifestyle can make all the difference in having a successful dog parenting experience. While the Siberian Husky is tailor-made for country life and cold weather in Connecticut, there are some challenges to keep in mind too.

You might be surprised to learn that Siberian Huskies are commonly abandoned or taken to shelters. One reason is that they may be too smart for their own good. A Siberian Husky will escape your Connecticut home at the first chance they get, chewing or squeezing their way out of seemingly impossible situations, including opening locked doors.

Another thing to take into consideration is that your Siberian Husky may not do well with other pets in your Connecticut home. This a breed that has predatory instincts and they are strong, muscular adult dogs that can easily overpower smaller breeds.

You’ll have to ensure your Siberian Husky in Connecticut gets plenty of exercise in open space to avoid pent up energy and bad behavior. Training your pup is vital because the Siberian Husky does have a stubborn streak. Positive reinforcement can go a long way in helping you raise a well-behaved, well-adjusted Siberian Husky that will be the envy of everyone in your Connecticut community.

Alice Fitzgerald is from Connecticut and is moving to Oxford county Maine in September 2021 and breeds Siberian Huskies. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual. We breed Siberian Husky puppies in a loving environment. Parents are on site and have had eyes cleared by CAER and hips certified as Excellent by OAF. All our huskies are raised to be part of the family and are socialized with people, children, and other animals. They come from excellent working and show blood lines. All our dogs are run recreationally and/or run in races and some compete in the show ring. All puppies have been wormed, received first shots, and been certified healthy by a licensed vet prior to going to their new home. All puppies come with a microchip and AKC Reunite lifetime enrollment. We breed to better the bloodline and not to produce a particular color. We breed to improve the genetics, health, and temperament of the breed. Please consider our puppies, but whatever choice you make enjoy your new lifetime friend! If you are looking for a happy and healthy puppy please contact us! Please feel free to veiw our website at www.timbercreekkennel.com.
