Hello and Welcome! We're humbled and honored that you've taken the time to stop in and see who we are. We're The Oaks AKC Great Pyrenees. We're a small, tight knit family who run an Oak Tree Farm here in SE Indiana. We also raise chickens and ducks on our land. Our Pyrs are both Livestock Guardians and beloved pets. We live in a very remote area with MANY predators, thus our Pyrs are not only loved as our family, but needed to protect our livestock. All our puppies are whelped inside our home (since it's climate controlled and we can constantly watch over them) and then at approx age 4 weeks we move mom and pups back out to the barn. Our puppies experience both home life and barn life. Once in the barn they'll have mentors from our other Pyrs and be exposed to our chickens. This exposure is crucial to jump start their natural instinct at a young age if you're wanting a Livestock Guardian. If you're wanting a Pyr as a pet only, this barn life helps socialize your pups to other animals and strange noises and sounds. We handle each puppy individually and love on them extensively! We take socialization seriously! Our Pyrs are all Vet checked. We love our Vet and feel it's very important that each puppy is handled and examined by our professional, licensed Veterinarian before going home to you. Our pups are vaccinated, de-wormed and also microchipped for your convenience and the puppy's safety. The also come home with 30 Pet Insurance Policy and a year health guarantee. Our sire and dams all have excellent champion filled bloodlines and AKC pedigrees! When we decided to breed, we spent months researching pedigrees, bloodlines and temperaments to bring you what we feel are the best Sire and Dams. They are all part of our family and we expect excellent behavior out of each of them to help socialize your puppy and to just get along as a pack. I am located in Salem, south central Indiana. I breed Great Pyrenees puppies on a working 164 acre farm with the parents. Only one to two litters per year are produced.
