Under the DownEast prefix, we have bred over 80 titled Portuguese Water Dogs including 60+ conformation championships and over 400 performance titles in water, obedience, rally, agility, tracking, barn hunt, scent work and search & rescue.

I have been involved in Portuguese Water Dogs since 2002. I am committed to producing healthy, well tempered water dogs with correct type and sound structure. I have produced multiple champions and many loving companions. This breed can make a great family pet but that doesn't mean they are meant for everyone. They are very active and intelligent dogs that require a lot of consistency and training to guide them to be the great family dogs we know they can be. They do have low shedding coats that can be great for people with allergies but it does not mean that they are hypoallergenic. If you have allergies it is important to spend a lot of time with them to be sure no reactions occur. We have puppies available from our 10/13/17 litter!
