Janet Rink is from North Carolina and breeds Mastiffs. I raise Old English Mastiff's as a hobby. I fell in love with the breed about eight years ago, when I found my first mastiff. She was owned by a single mom, with  an autistic child, a 5 year old, and an infant. When that 5 old little girl lead that 80 lb. mastiff out of the house and the yard, without being pulled of dragged around the yard , I was amazed. But, then when the dog came into the house , off-leash, she went directly to the autistic  child, made sure he was ok, then circled the infant and laid down at her feet. I told my husband I want that dog, because I had 2 children myself.   Needless to say, I bought the dog, and she stole my heart. She grew to be a 187 lb. baby.I named her Star, because she was my shining star and the best dog I ever owned. She was the biggest, most gentle, protective dog I ever owned. She wouldn't hurt a fly,but a stranger could never get to me or any member of my family of my friends, and their children. She would always put herself between us and at that size, no one ever bothered us.  Do I show dog's?No. But that doesn't mean I don't raise quality dogs. I've been trying to raise these dogs for 10 years .They are difficult to breed.Ask any breeder. I stay up around the clock with my girls when they are giving birth, whether it is 12 hours or 2 days.    I am not a puppy mill. I love these dogs and cry just about every time  a pup leaves with it's new owner. My husband and I own 10 acres of land where my dogs have free reign when we are home. Any other time I regretfully have to contain them in 20 by 20 kennels while we work. I don't like it, but it is reality. If they were to get out of the fenced property, I would die if they got hit by a car, or stolen.    I currently own 3 females, that I am trying to breed. 2 have had 1 litter each and the 3rd has not yet. My dogs are health tested for PRA, and CMR1 both a genetic disease that could cause blindness. They are clear of both.I also have their hips, and elbows OFA'ed for dysplasia, they have passed.I offer a Health Guarantee with each pup and each person has to sign a puppy contract. I only want my pups to go to good homes. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.

Mastiff

Our puppies are raised “under foot” in “puppy culture method” as a part of our family so that we can be the best support system we can be for momma dog, in turn giving your future pup the best first life experiences possible. They start by whelping in the comfort of our bedroom and around 2 weeks old graduate to the living room where they are exposed to the concept of night and day, along with sounds of children playing, dishes clashing, sensory household items like vacuums, and of course lots and lots of play and cuddles. We are a horse farm where our dogs interact with all types of animals including cats, milk goats, and chickens as well as hop into the camper to attend dog shows all over the east coast for human and dog socializing. We aim for balance in all things with our dogs. We are advocates for 2 ancient giant breed dogs which are the sweet attentive English mastiff, and the beautiful and confident Tibetan Mastiff.
