Newfoundland

Whether it's trucks, snowmen or pets, our motto has always been "Go Big or Go Home!" We got Dozer, our first Newfoundland puppy, in 2014 as a family pet. We simply fell in love with this gentle giant. Within four years we added three more Newfie puppies and two Newfie adults to our family. Our Newfs are truly part of our family. They spend time inside and outside of the house, and interact constantly with adults and children. Our Newfoundland puppies are AKC registered and come from healthy bloodlines. We OFA certify and/or PennHipp all of our parents. We are a breeder that you can trust. Puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. However, upgrading to a full registration is available to approved owners for an additional fee. Puppies are available to their forever homes when they are eight weeks old. A $350 deposit is required to hold your puppy. This deposit is nonrefundable unless we are unable to provide a puppy for you. All of our puppies are sold with a one year health guarantee. By eight weeks of age our puppies will have been examined by a veterinarian, received their first puppy shots and been wormed several times. All of our puppies will be microchipped, as well. Our puppies are kept in the house and interact with adults and children.

Our puppies are raised “under foot” in “puppy culture method” as a part of our family so that we can be the best support system we can be for momma dog, in turn giving your future pup the best first life experiences possible. They start by whelping in the comfort of our bedroom and around 2 weeks old graduate to the living room where they are exposed to the concept of night and day, along with sounds of children playing, dishes clashing, sensory household items like vacuums, and of course lots and lots of play and cuddles. We are a horse farm where our dogs interact with all types of animals including cats, milk goats, and chickens as well as hop into the camper to attend dog shows all over the east coast for human and dog socializing. We aim for balance in all things with our dogs. We are advocates for 2 ancient giant breed dogs which are the sweet attentive English mastiff, and the beautiful and confident Tibetan Mastiff. Newfoundland

Cove Bear Newfoundland’s is located in Walnut Cove NC on a 10 acre farm. We have been breeding the Newfoundland’s for 10 years. We are a smaller breeder and only breed the Newfoundland’s. A lot of time and effort has been put into the selection of dogs that are in our program. We strive to produce dogs that are within the breed standard height, weight, and structure. Putting close attention also on thick bone structure, blocky heads and short muzzles. Another quality we feel is extremely important is the temperment. Not only is it important to have the nice physical traits but also a Newfoundland that exhibits the true gentle giant personality you would expect from the Newfoundland. We have also introduced imported bloodlines from places such as Belgium and Romania. Here at Cove Bear our entire family which includes four children is involved in the care, attention and socialization the puppies receive before going to their new homes. All of our litters are whelped in our living room. We stay with our mothers during the delivery process and continue to stay with mom and pups which allows us to make sure all puppies are doing well and it also gives mom the time to bond with her puppies. Once puppies are 4 to 5 weeks of age we start going outside to adventure! We have a puppy yard that they transition to where they can get a lot of daily excercise which is extremely important. Puppies do not leave before 9 weeks of age. We love to talk about the Newfoundland’s and the puppies and welcome calls to do so.
