Sandy Mountain Shorthairs has been breeding since 2004 with the philosophy to hunt and train and still maintain a family dog with longevity. Our champion bloodlines go back to KS Kristen Vom Pottsiepenn and Sundance Demi Vom Max. Our pups have found great homes throughout the years and we make references available. The pups are raised with two children who adore them. Our kennel has now partnered with full-time trainer, Justin Mason of the Pittsburgh area. Justin's sire Steady Wing Gunner places regularly in United Field Trialers Association (UFTA), American Field and AKC events. Justin also owns an aunt to this litter (our pup from three years ago named "Amber") who recently placed third out of over 80 dogs at a gun dog steak in the Pittsburgh area.

My husband and I fell in love with German Shorthairs 20 years ago when we got our first GSP, Freedom. We never had intentions of breeding until many people in our hunting world asked us if we were going to breed her. We decided to breed her and have continued to keep a female and breed that female to keep our line going. We are not lying when we say that the puppies keep getting better and better, if that's even possible. Our dogs are not only our hunting companions, they are our babies. Our dogs have hunted many different states, and Canada but our most favorite is to hunt wild grouse and woodcock in Northern PA. We currently have 4 GSPs (soon to be 5), and they live in our home and lay on our couches and even have their own bedroom. Our puppies are well loved, well socialized with kids and other dogs and will be a delight to add to your family.
