We are located in South Carolina and have a sporthorse breeding and training farm. Our Borzois are recent imports to the USA and our plan is to show them and in some cases introduce them as therapy dogs. Previously I have bred and trained German Shepherds in obedience and Schutzhund. Obtaining many High in Trials in both disciplines and Qualifying for the Gaines Regional Championship in AKC The Borzois we have imported have been shown in Conformation obtaining their NZ Championship titles winning many BOB, BOS, Best of Group and Reserve in Show in some cases over Grand Champions from NZ and Australia. They have been either sired by or come from lines imported from the UK using frozen semen from a Cruft Qualified dog UKCH Starborough Sea King. Our dog that we have imported from Germany Giovanni Von Alshamina was specifically chosen for his temperament , health testing and bloodlines as we thought they would complement the lines we already had . Giovanni is also a larger stallion type male weighing over 110lbs and it was hoped that the puppies would inherit this. Our first litter that we have produced has proven this as the uniformity in quality, size ,temperament and movement is apparent to everyone , impressing them greatly. He is sired by an Russian bred dog Vasart Onegin, who has obtained both his Russian and German Championships, not an easy feat when you consider the level of competition in Europe. Giovanni was shown successfully as a maturing puppy but due to personal reasons his breeder was unable to show him as much as we had hoped. This aside, once we are settled here and the dogs become more acclimated to the weather and conditions we intend to show them in Conformation. We also plan to show a pup or two from this first litter unless they are adopted first. We have appreciated the wonderful support and confidence shown in our dogs by all the lovely people who have adopted them and in a way become our new "family" here in the USA ..we look forward to seeing how they all progress and will be there to support and encourage them in this exciting journey they have embarked upon with the breed that has captured their hearts..the Borzoi.
