Lily Lee founded Lotus Bichons in Southern California in 2014, 4 years after she received a gift of a Bichon Frise. Although a beautiful dog, her bichon suffered from over vaccination and other health issues. Lily set out on a mission to promote Bichon Frise health using a holistic approach and to share her experiences with others. Lily joined the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego in order to gain more in depth insight into the breed. Deb Gibb and Linda Rowe of Hollyhock Bichons became her mentors and guided her in extending her knowledge in improving the health and longevity of bichons. They also helped her acquire her next bichons and she began showing them in conformation events. Her breeding dogs are all AKC Champions and Grand Champions. Lily is developing Lotus Bichons in a way that she hopes will follow the "best practices" of breeding that she has learned from her Hollyhock Bichon mentors and from other highly respected bichon breeders. Lily is dedicated to improving the breed using minimal vaccination protocols, whole food nutrition and only breeding with others that follow formal OFA health testing. She is proud to participate in the AKC Bred With H.E.A.R.T program which recognizes breeders that have made a commitment to breeding better dogs through education and health testing. The OFA test results of her breeding dogs are published at www.offa.org (Orthopedic Foundation For Animals). Lotus Bichon Frise puppies are raised in Lily's home and are not placed until they are 10-14 weeks old. She rears her puppies using Early Neurological Stimulation, natural handling, environmental enrichment and a wealth of socialization opportunities before sending them off to their forever homes. Priority for puppy placement is given to current and former Bichon Frise owners and to owners wanting to work with their Bichon Frise to achieve their conformation, agility, obedience, therapy or other titles.

AKC designated Bred with a Heart Breeder of Bichons and Barbets 2017. My daughter and I were pleased to have the opportunity in 2018 to do a presentation on the breed standard for the AKC judge panel with our herding farm Barbet Daisy. We are a small family show and breeding kennel, including my Grandmother Doris Newkirk and my 3 daughters Kailey Elvira, Roxi and Ava Moon who are also actively showing making four generations. We are devoted to the betterment of the breed and strive to help new owners achieve success in the show ring, as well as with their family companions. We are not a puppy mill, breeding puppies for a profit. We do not sell and have never sold my puppies through pet shops, dealers or on listings for puppies you may find on the internet that deal with puppy mills or ill treated dogs. None of us currently and will not breed designer dogs EVER. All our babies are born in our bed room and are well socialized, not leaving home until they are eight to ten weeks old. You are welcomed, and encouraged, to visit our homes as often as you like while your puppy waits to go to his or her forever home. Our puppies are all guaranteed for two full years and I reserve first rights, for return of the puppy to me, if for some reason you can no longer keep him or her. I will provide testimonials and to speak with past puppy buyers. We are members of the : AKC, The American Barbet Club, CKC, and a Past President of the UKC: United Barbet Club. Between my grandmothers home and ours we are now the proud owners of eight Barbets. The American Barbet Club is now currently AKC recognized and are currently shown in the AKC sport group. Our 2 kennels currently also have 4 Bichon Frises. All AKC UKC registered.

Astarte Kennel was established in 1973 in Phoenix AZ. Our puppies are all raised in our home with love and care. We currently have a litter of Barbet puppies in the whelping box. The sire is a UKC and International Ch. and the Dam is an International Ch. The Barbet is fully accepted for r AKC Shows in Jan. 2021 in the Sporting Group I am a member of the UKC Barbet Club, Barbet Club of America (AKC), and Past President of the United Barbet Club. We breed our dogs for temperament and to breed type. All of our dogs are genetically tested for hips, knees and elbows and follow the ethical breeding standards of the national club. I am a certified member of the AKC Breeder with Heart designation.  Astarte kennels  males are CKC,UKC, and International Champions and our females are also UKC and International Champions and two is a CKC Grand Ch.
