Welcome to Owasco Valley Retrievers! Our goal is to produce Labrador Retrievers that are well balanced and just as comfortable in your home as they are in the field hunting or in competition. All of our labs we use in breeding are chosen based on ability to compete, health clearances and disposition. Our dogs have proven abilities from AKC hunt test competitions and hunting the prairies of South Dakota, the Game Lands of Pennsylvania, Finger Lakes of New York, Eastern Shore of Maryland in the Delmarva and Chesapeake Bay. We match our dogs to the correct mate with the right temperament to produce the best litters possible and not just matched to a pedigree. Owasco Valley Retrievers have dogs available for breeding or at stud in Northern Virginia and Central New York. As responsible breeders, we do not breed the Weimaraner silver D-Locus color gene into any of our lines. We are proud to be a AKC Breeder of Merit since 2014 and to responsibly produce puppies of the highest quality possible! We have our puppies placed in 36 states and 4 countries. They compete in ALC and HRC local to national competition hunt tests. Many of our puppies are family companions and hunting partners. Our puppies are very intelligent and can be trained to fill almost any role; such as, hunting partners, retrieving competitors, dock diving, hiking companions, shed hunting, therapy and emotional support, National level agility in NADAC (currently 4th nationally) and bomb detection work.
