The official state dog for Wisconsin is the American Water Spaniel. This breed is native to the state and was bred as a hunter’s companion on boats. If you’re a Wisconsin family looking for a new pet, an American Water Spaniel is definitely worth considering. Here’s some information about this pleasing, energetic, and highly trainable breed.
The standout feature of the American Water Spaniels is its water-resistant double coat. Wisconsin families who love waterfowl hunting will find this dog to be the ideal companion.
If you are an individual or family in Wisconsin who is not into hunting and are thinking of getting an American Water Spaniel puppy as a family pet, keep in mind that this is a working dog with high energy since it was bred to retrieve fowl. But as long as your dog will have plenty of space to run around, you should be fine.
